You can receive emails for each on just one email address, but it might look more professional if you create an alias for each individual role you have.

This way you can also create aliases for your entire team and have them all forwarded to one inbox if you want.

Another reason to have an email alias is if you. need a temporary email address. For example, you can use one when applying for online jobs and you don’t want to clog your main inbox.

The same, naturally, goes when you are the one who posts a new job opening.

Let’s say you have 100 people working in your company, with one primary email address (we’ll call it main@company) and 99 aliases connected to it (user1, user2 … usern).

How do I create an email alias?

To create an email alias with CTemplar:

  1. Open your CTemplar inbox
  2. Go to Settings by clicking on the cog icon on the upper-right corner of your screen
  3. In the tabs on the top of your screen, select Signature & Aliases
  4. Click the Add Alias button under Aliases to add an alias
  5. Enter a username in the box and click Add
  6. Your new email alias is created and you can now send emails from it and receive replies to your main CTemplar account

How to Disable an Email Alias That You’re No Longer Using?

You can also disable an alias when you no longer need it.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Settings on your account
  2. Select Signatures & Aliases
  3. Under Aliases find the email alias that you want to remove and simply click the Disable link
  4. The alias address will be marked with the red Disabled next to it

Note that this will only disable the alias address, but will not remove it entirely. You can always click the Enable link next to it if you need it again.

What is a Domain Alias Different from an Email Alias?

In addition to email aliases, you can also have aliases for your domains. Here, the “alias” part will come after the “@” sign.

For example, if your primary email address is main@company1.com and you have another company (company2), the domain alias for it would be main@company2.com. When someone sends an email to it, the message will be forwarded to your primary address.
